Life can be hard, and sometimes we need more than the support of those around us. Whether you’re navigating something specific that’s happened recently, or carrying something much older that has shaped the way you move through the world, therapy offers a space that is entirely yours, to think, to feel, and to begin to understand yourself more fully.
I work with adults on both a short-term and longer-term basis. Some people come with a clear focus after a period of stress, a bereavement, a relationship difficulty, and find that a shorter piece of work gives them what they need. Others find that once they begin to explore, there is more to unpick, and that longer-term therapy allows for a deeper process of change. There is no right or wrong way to do this and following an initial consultation we will find the approach that makes the most sense for you.
I take an integrative approach, drawing on a range of therapeutic models including person-centred, psychodynamic, and solution-focused approaches, as well as EMDR for trauma processing. This means I’m not working from a fixed script; I work in the way that best fits you.
Sessions are available online or in person at my therapy space in North Shields.
